I found out about this site at another place where they said NOT to come here! Very Happy SO of course I had to see this "TERRIBLE" place for myself, and it blows the other site away! This is the best Cayman site I've ever seen. I'm sure I'll have some questions, after I check out the videos and look around a little. The local radio station is a very cool feature, one of many! Great job people, really. Very Happy

rudyD - Glad you were "brave" enough to find this motley crew! rofl2

I am curious as to WHY anyone would say NOT to come here? Do they feel that false information is being given out here??? Not trying to start anything here - just stumped as to what the reason could be.

Becka - with a curious mind and a trip counter that's looking better every day! dancing

Becka,

Yes, they hate this place. They tolerate rudeness and flaming, all for the sake of "honesty". They do not go to their website to give, only to take. One thread wondered what they could do to increase their exposure, I suggested that they stop belittling other boards. One poster actually accused me of being Joe! They are an odd, confused bunch without leadership foundering on the open seas. They are hosted as a small group on a larger carribean forum, otherwise they would not exist. I hope Joe doesn't get offended by this diatribe, but there is a vast gulf between this board and theirs, and we should leave it at that.

With appreciation for the nice comments from Kurtis, Maniac and rudyD, I've decided to lock this thread so that it doesn't encourage further discussion about the pros and cons of this or any other message board.

It is very satisfying, indeed, to see how many people we are reaching as they search for a place to share their love and interest in the Cayman Islands. For those who might not have noticed, we hit another new record yesterday afternoon of people logged on at once! dancing

Dear Joe,

My husband, three children and I just returned from a lovely vacation on Grand Cayman. We found your Activity Guide to be the most helpful and trustworthy guide, it was basically our bible through our whole vacation. I did not know about your website until I saw it in the guide. The only thing we were not crazy about was our condo, the Cayman Reef, on 7-Mile Beach. I see now that we could have gotten something much better for what we paid. I plan on using your website for arranging our condo and planning our next trip. Thank you for providing such a wonderful and much needed service. Smile

Welcome Gayle!

So glad you took the time to post. Joe has done an amazing job here. The best part is not only the wealth of information, and discounts-of course, but the knowledgable friends you meet here. wave

I would love to hear more about your vacation, and the activities you guys participated in, even if it were laying beachside.

We will be arriving next Saturday, August 5th - 12th for a stay at the Morritt's Tortuga.

Would just like to say thanks to everyone who has posted info on making our trip the best possible.

Have been to GC twice on different cruises, but you're so limited in time we're really looking forward to staying for a week, and visting more than the standard one day fare that a cruise offers. Now that I've been reading the Web site daily, we knew to make our car rental reservations early (and get the discount, thank you), where to stop and get groceries on the way to the East end, and a wealth of other information to make our stay more enjoyable. THANKS AGAIN!

[B]

Greetings from the East Coast!

I had no idea where to post this: A friend of mine recommended this site. I've never been to the Cayman Islands (yet!), but after cruising on some of these threads, I feel as if I have. This is a terrific idea, I only wish there was a site like this for every city/state/island, etc. GREAT JOB!!! Mr. Green
