Aqua Bay Club

We've visited GC several times, stayed at Aqua Bay and loved it. Haven't visited since the hurricanes (in GC and here in Florida) and was wondering about the beach in front of Aqua Bay and the visibility at Cemetery reef. Heard the reef is "blurry" covered with silt and sand. During our last visit to Aqua Bay (2003) the shoreline had "dropped" considerably--making it difficult to enter on the rocky bottom. Does anyone know its current condition? Also, if anyone has stayed there this season...have the units been totally renovated and is the spa operational? thanks

Hi sandalgirl - Welcome to the forum. Very Happy

Aqua Bay has been open for some time now, completely renovated with a beautiful clean beach.

The snorkeling conditions at Cemetary Reef are exactly the same as they ever were. Visibility vaires daily depending on several factors; typically the visibility there is in excess of 100 feet. There are a lot better places to snorkel though, check out the Snorkel section for some of the best locations.

Hi,

I'm considering this for my family maybe the end of June. We want to get oceanfront are there any discounts that are out there? Also is the water rocky or sandy bottom? Hope to hear from someone.

We Loved the abc!

All units are oceanfront, (We stayed in #9) The water is rocky and sandy but nothing that makes it uncomfortable!

We stayed at Aqua Bay a few years ago and loved the condo. We had a first floor unit which was so convenient to the pool and beach! Just walk a short distance to the south and there's a sandy entry. Saw lots of turtles there!

FF~Hi! I live in Toledo, but we go to Columbus a lot to shop at Easton! We haven't been to Cayman since right before Hurricane Ivan hit and am hoping to get back this June. Have you been there before?

Summer: No, this is my first time to the CI...I am very much in need of this vacation and this site has been great for giving me info. to plan my trip! Turning 40 is looking better and better! I am able to do and see more of this beautiful world we live in the older i get Wink

Is there anyone that has stayed there recently? We are going the 1st week in July and are staying unless they change it in unit #3. Is there a washer/dryer area at this condo? Any info will be greatly appreciated!

I actually loved my 40's! I'm past the big 5-0 now, but that just gives me one more excuse for more vacations!) I tell my husband--What if I died tomorrow and we never got to -------, so we'd better do it now! Wink

Cayman is wonderful! Can't wait to get back to the restaurants there!

Hi

I haven't stayed at the Aqua Bay club, but have looked at the property. It's on the quiet north end of SMB--I think that they have a nice beach and they are not far from the fosters grocery store in west Bay. The restaurants are not within walking distance....but are not that far by car. Cemetary Beach isn't too far away for snorkeling.

What other kinds of things do you want to know?
