Thanks for letting me know GSRDPM. Penny told me last week that they have already received "many" bookings and "numerous" inquiries from people mentioning the Activity Guide Discount, but so far you are the only person who has posted back.

I wish more people would post their feedback. We average over 4,000 topic views and 38 new members per day, yet only 100 posts. :? This tells me there are many people visiting and using the information but not posting.

Don't be shy people - At least say hello and activate your trip countdown! Very Happy

Joe:

Is the Cayman Villa's CAG discount a set % or $ amount?

Vary unit to unit or time of year?

How do I ask for it?

gjm - Caymanvillas represent over 100 different properties, so the discount depends on what property you rent and other factors, such as availability.

Always ask for the Activity Guide discount when you contact them and they will give you a discount whenever possible. Wink

Hi,

I am looking for a long term rental ( one year minimum) anywhere in Grand Cayman. Any ideas where I should look and what monthly rental I will have to pay. I am after one bedroom minimum, something under $1000. Too optimistic?

Hi ejp - Welcome to the forum. Very Happy

For $1,000/month you are going to have to find a room-mate if you want anything even 1/2 way decent. Remember, this is a tourist destination so upscale properties can be rented for $1,000 or more per night. :o

I think the best thing for you to do would be to contact Penny at Caymanvillas and ask her to get you the best deal on a one month rental. All of her contact information is in the Privately Owned Villas section. That will give you a month to find a room mate and hopefully a more affordable place to stay. Wink

If buying a property is an option, be sure to contact James Bovell. His contact information is in the Real Estate section.

I agree, it's too easy to use the info and not contribute, so here goes. I've emailed Penny about short term rental, and I'll try to remember to leave feedback.

Thanks, Paul Cheers

Hi Joe, I am one of your many fans of this website but haven't introduced myself to the board.

My Husband and I are planning our vacation for May 4 thru the 13th. We are staying at the Reef Resort the 6th thru the 13th but when we were purchasing our plane tickets, we decided we would stay a couple extra days because obviously, by everyone elses comments, 7 days just aren't enough.....

We thought we might stay the first two days on Seven Mile Beach and hadn't yet decided where. I will definitely contact Cayman Villas and see what they have.

Once again, a big HI to everyone and I CAN"T WAIT TO GO ON VACATION!!!!!!

This thread made me laugh.... and has prompted me to speak up! Hello my name is Karyn and I have also been lurking! AND I have been using the FANTASTIC information and not contributing... so hello again!

I too contacted Penny concerning rentals as my husband and I are relocating the island next week. Were going to be working at the Ritz, which I noticed may not make me particularly popular - tee hee Very Happy - but were thoroughly looking forward to coming. Weve been to the island many times as we used to work on cruise ships so we know how stunning it is and we just cant wait!! rolllaugh

So thankyou again for all the brilliant helpful information!!

Hi misskaryn,

It must be exciting to have worked on a cruise ship and now being able to get employment on a tropical Caribbean island!

You're doing what many 9-to-fivers can only dream about!

Good luck when you get settled on GC!!

Have a Great Day!!
