Welcome to the forum, Katy ,
You won't have to worry about any of the beaches at the condos you are considering being overrun with cruise ship passengers. They are usually taken to some place like Royal Palms or farther up on the Public Beach, where there are restaurants and water sports rentals and food and drink, and all that.
Even though all the beaches in Cayman are considered public, the chairs on the beach in front of each condo or hotel are only for the use of that property's guests......so, you won't have any problems.
Now, you may have to choose between having a sandy beach, which is nice for swimming, and a property that has a nice reef nearby with good snorkeling. Because of the reef offshore, the sand on the beach is often kind of pebbly or rocky, rather than powdery sand.
The beaches on the central and northern part of 7 Mile Beach tend to be wider and nicer stretches of sand, with easy entry into the water for swimming and playing around. You could also snorkel there, of course, but might not see as many fish. The beaches at the Southern end of 7 Mile Beach (for example, where Treasure Island Condos is located) are a little rockier because they have nice reefs just off shore. I think the beach at Treasure Island is just fine....lots of sand for the chairs and sunbathing and all that.....but the entry into the water isn't so easy because of the iron shore.
I have stayed very close by Treasure Island for years, and I have snorkeled right off its beach many times, and it can be amazingly good! Treasure Island is nice, also, because, even though it is a condo property, it does have some resort amenities, like a swim up pool bar and a restaurant.....plus, it's in a great location, very close to lots of restaurants and shops. I think you would enjoy staying there.
