I'm thinking of upgrading my old Scuba Pro regulator and gauges. I've heard good things about Seaquest. What does everyone recommend?

Scuba Pro was good years ago, but now Seaquest is the best.

Well there are a couple million people that would disagree with you. Scuba Pro has been around forever and has a great reputation.

Scuba Pro is to dive gear what Bose is to speakers. Over priced and not very good. Plus, Scuba Pro is FRENCH. Buy American dude!

Personal attacks are not allowed on this Forum and will get you a time out. You can state your opinions without getting defensive or offfensive. Just say what you prefer and why. There is no need to knock other people's choices. Point out the advantages of whichever you prefer.

Scuba Pro and Seaquest are both very popular brands. wink

Scuba Pro uses the latest technology to produce some of the finest equipment manufactured for scuba and have been doing so for over 40 years. I highly recommend all of their products to anyone diving at any level. I have been using it for over 10 years and have never had a serious incident while using it.

I like Bose speakers too... rolllaugh

Seaquest is best because it is more affordable, made in the USA, latest technology and safe and easy to use.

Any audiophile will tell you that Bose speakers are the worst speakers made.

I've had great performance with my Seaquest BCD going on 5 years now. Tune your gear up every year and you'll do fine.

The BEST gear is what you like the best. Which gauges are easiest to read, what BC feels the most comfortable, what kind of reg you like, etc. There is no BEST, just BEST for YOU. Very Happy

I just bought a buffet of different equipment, Mares Dragon BC and I had tried on different models it just fit me best, Aqualung LX regulator, and Uwatec Aladdin Prime computer it was just a matter of preference and personal comfort, my suggestion is to go out and try different gear on.

BW has some great advice. It's what works best for you. And buy it from your local dive shop. Remember, the internet can't give certifications, fix your gear or fill your tanks....

This is kind of like asking what's the best car. Some prefer Pintos, some prefer Chevettes.

Whatever you buy, you'll want to make sure someone local can work on it. No matter how good the gear is, it will need service and maintainance.

I agree with the last statement. Make sure that your gear is able to be maintained locally. My husband and I are getting ready for our trip the end of this month.

No shop locally deals with our regulators. They were purchased at a shop here but they can't work on them. They had to be sent to Florida. A 3 week ordeal. Confused
