Barely 3 week until we get to Grand Cayman and I am so excited ......Smile . We would love to meet up with any other CAG members who will be there Wink Diana

Hi Diana,

I think I found it......

How are you doing with your certification coursework? Have you started yet? I think the more you can get done at home, the better (and cheaper). Good luck no matter how you decide to do it.....the main thing is that you're going to give it a try! You'll love it!

Hi Diana!

I have trouble clearing my ears, so when I was certifying, my dive master suggested a 12-hour nasal spray, preferably the no-drip kind.

Ironically, the boss that I work for holds the patent for the no-drip nasal spray!

I thanked him profusely for making a terrific product! BouncingLaugh

Google up a product called "ClearEase". It is an enzyme-based product that naturally opens eustachian tubes and sinus passages. Start a few days before the trip and I think it'll help. Relatives who have used it have been able to fly easily when before using it the pressure changes of ascent and descent in jets caused pain.

Thanks for all the help...... I'm probably going to try all of it, I don't want any problems trying to equalize I'm studying the book, answering all the main objectives, and taking all the quizzes. I will definately get that all done before we get there and I'm hoping to get module 1 signed off. I'm not sure if it will make it any cheaper but ......it will give me more time for diving in Grand Cayman if I succed I'm going to order some "Sink the Stink" today and I want to check out a wet suit. I'm afraid to order it on line because I can't try them on unless I see the same thing in the store. I think I'll get a full suit because I get cold but not sure of thickness yet Diana

This may be a little off topic here but as a life long drummer I have paid a great deal of attention to my ears, I see my ent doc every three months or so for a check-up and thorough cleaning. I always time that for right before I scuba dive so I'll know the ear isn't fighting any wax as I neutralize, I've never had a problem so maybe that helps or maybe I'm just one of those people who never have a problem....... does anybody else have a regular ear cleaning before scuba diving?

Hi dsellers! wave

PADI nono1 does not recommend you use any type of decongestant while diving Diving as it is possible it may wear off at depth and result in what they call a reverse squeeze, painful and can permanently damage your ears. However...many divers do use them and with success lala , please be aware of the dangers while diving while using decongestants read Good luck with your certification and hope you have a great time ThumbsUp

Another reason to not order online is that the experience and help from a local dive store is often indispensable. I prefer to support my local store, (Diver's Mast in Jackson, MI), as much as I can so that they'll always be there for me.

Happy diving,

ds

Ditto, especially for gear that requires a proper fit such as mask, fins, exposure protection.... and without exception BC & reg/octo that need annual maintenance! ThumbsUp clapping

And don't forget there are few websites that do tank fills! Wink

I bought my wetsuit today..... at a local dive shop . I ended up spending more than I wanted to BUT....it fits great! I ended up with a Henderson Titanium Hyperstretch 3mm, being a little vertically challenged several that I tried on were to long. I'm getting soooooooo excited Diana

Ooo...the Hyperstretch!

THAT is a *GREAT* buy, Diana! If I have to wear a wetsuit, I want Henderson's Hyperstretch! That way I feel less like a sausage in a casing!

BouncingLaugh

Seriously, that's good stuff! Great purchase!

Cool. I'm glad you went the local dive store route. It's usually better in the long rum as far as fit and service. Being a vertical over-achiever, I liked being able to make sure the suits were long enough, especially in the body, so they didn't pinch in the wrong places! Mr. Green

The 3mm should take care of most any Cayman / Caribbean dive you'll ever do.

See ya,

ds
