Glad I found this forum. It seems to offer lots of useful hints and advice. I'm arriving in GC early next month. I've never dived before and haven't done any classroom or pool work at this stage. Is it possible to do an introduction to diving that'll get me into the sea during my week-long trip? Can anyone recommend someone/some place that can take an utter novice whose newly acquired wetsuit hasn't gotten wet yet and turn her into some semblance of a scuba diver? I'm staying in George Town.

Sure .... take your coupon from your CAG and go to Don Fosters and sign up for a resort course. They will have you diving in a few hours and then you can do repeat dives with them all week ....

They are just south of George Town so would be very convenient for you...

Have a Great Trip!!

You can also do the same with Casey and Keith at Neptunes...

Just a tip from someone that almost did what you are talking about. Go to either of the above mentioned operations' websites and get a medical history form. (Not sure what it's called.) If you have any asthma or other health problems you will need a release from your doctor.

I had finally talked my wife into trying it with me when we found this out and didn't have time to get an appointment with our doctors. We both have mild asthma and allergies. (Neither of which bothered us at all while we were there, I might add.)

Just wouldn't want you to get your hopes up and then not be able to do it.

I WILL be fully certified before I come back.
