So, here goes. I've been lurking for a good month or so, trying to get the rhythm of this forum and the regular contributors. Now that my wife and I are just over a week away from jetting away from Denver to GC, via Houston, I figured I should get my questions out there for some quality feedback from this helpful community.

We are staying in a private villa on the east end. Our plane lands around 3:30 on saturday, so I'm figuring that first thing we should do after picking up the car (provided we get some response from Andy's) is to hit the food and liquor stores.

So far we are planning on a few things:

- Stingray City on sunday the 30th in the morning hours (probably through oh boy charters), to take advantage of the calm morning weather and the lack of cruise ships in port. Do they serve alcoholic drinks at all on these excursions?

- Seven mile beach at least one day during the week; few drinks.

- Rum Point at least one time during the week; few drinks.

- Snorkeling any number of the recommended spots; few drinks after we're done swimming.

- Maybe doing pampered ponies.

The first general question is, "what are we missing?"

Are there any great excursions for a sunset sail with drinks? Any that go out of Rum Point?

Being on the east end, is there a quality beach (similar to what seven mile beach has to offer in terms of sand, water and drinks) that we can hit close by?

Hopefully this is enough to spark some conversation.

Thanks so much in advance for your feedback.

Weeds --

Tracy has some great recommendations. I would only answer your first question with "...scuba diving the East End!" Know that it is not in the cards for you, but frankly, the diving there is among the best in the Caribbean!

The best groceries and liquor store stops are right there by the airport. Stock up before you head east. Be sure to get the Cayman Activity Guide coupons, either at this site or in the booklet available at the airport when you arrive. You will be able to save some pretty substantial $$$.

Have fun!

Steve,

Have a great time diving in Belize! Though not a diver, I've been there 4 times and love it.

Hey Weeds,

As long as you're staying on the East End, stop by the major condo resorts there and use their beaches for snorkeling under their docks. Tons of fish there. One resort has a tiki bar on the beach and the other has a dock bar. I imagine you'd like a refreshing beverage after your swim?<g>

Thanks for the feedback everyone. To a certain extent, we'll be winging it. I want to make sure I see more than just one spot on the island.

Any ideas on how to get some action out of Andy's car rental? I'm getting antsy about getting my car rental situation booked and haven't heard back from them. I'm wondering if I'm doing too much thinking with my city brain as opposed to my island brain. I'm trying to be patient.

There are always plenty of cars. You could just rent from them when you get there. Their located across from the Comfort suites.
