I just learned of a new (new to me) flight search engine from our local newspaper this morning; Yapta dot com. Once you download the software, you can go to most airline/travel websites, click on the actual flight you prefer for your travel destination, and Yapta will email you if the price drops. I put in the same flight to Grand Cayman for 2 different dates in 2008. I have no idea who Yapta is, but planning to travel from the West Coast to GCM this far out, I figure I can't go wrong.

We returned from Grand Cayman on our first week-long visit last week and can't wait to return!

thanks for the heads up on the travel search engine--I went to their website and I think it's a public beta test now. Sounds like a great idea.

I have been a longtime user of kayak dot com, it is an excellent search engine that actually searches the airline websites as well as other popular search engines like traveocity, expedia, etc.

It does not however pickup ALL of tha airlines like Spirit, Southwest, and some of the others.

I've used kayak too, but I didn't notice a flight specific search. From Sacramento airport, there are not very many direct flights to East Coast international airports that continue on to GCM, so I plugged those into the search. Most of the searches I found give you the lowest fare, but don't alert you when the exact flight you want reduces it's air.

This could be a bad thing for me as I enjoy researching (day dreaming) about vacation!
