This site is new to me. I am wondering where the best snorkeling or kayak tour is in George Town Grand Cayman. This is our first time on a cruise ship and by the sounds of it the area becomes very busy when these ships port. Arriving a few months down the road on April 29 2008 for the day. Also what is the best way to get there from the dock.

Cheers

Lin

Welcome to the forum Linda123 Smile ,

You won't want to miss Stingray City when you visit Grand Cayman! That really is a must-do, since you really can't do that anywhere else in the world! We recommend Soto's Cruises for that, and if you contact them ahead of time, for example, over the Internet, you will get a great price! I think it's $35 US per adult (pay in cash or travelers check). After swimming with the rays, they'll take you to another spot for snorkeling....it's a great trip! They will pick you up at the dock, so no worries about how to find them......after the tour then can either take you back into Georgetown or drop you off somewhere along 7 Mile Beach, like the Royal Palms, where you could swim and have a bite to eat (and drink!).

We recommend the Cayman Kayak tours, but they operate from way over on the other side of the island, and I'm not sure they would come and get you in Georgetown.

Hmmm....I seem to remember others having said that in the past....please keep trying, and if you still don't get a response, let us know.

I know they'll be worth it!

You could always try calling them--and if you don't have a cheap international calling package, you can get something online for $10 that lets you call all kinds of places. The one that I have is 17cents a minute to Cayman, which is a whole lot better than the $2 I was paying with my phone service

Good luck

Shelly :-)
