My wife and my two teenage sons are exploring a cayman diving vacation and would appreciate recommendations on reasonable accommodations in the Caymans. A few specific questions are: Is Little Cayman more reasonable than the main island? Is the East End less expensive than the West? Do the dive packages always save you money, or is a la carte going to cost about the same?

I would recommend either renting one of the condos listed if you want to save $$ on food or if cooking on vaca isn't something you want I would Highly Recomend Comfort Suites.

After review of many of the accommodations on the island...you can basically find different Price ranges anywhere you stay.

Not up to date with Little Cayman prices. But there are many who prefer the little island because of the calm peacefulness. i am sure someone will respond with this info...

I have friends who stay on East End and dive with OF. They always get a super good deal when they book (they are in the dive profession) so they may get a little break but for the most part it is about the same as what we would get. I know that Compass Point has a package deal that includes diving, accomodations and a car that seems really good.

As far as A La Cart, it truly depends on how much you want to eat out or dine in, and how much diving you are going to do. We prefer to do alot of shore diving so we don't book a whole week on the boat. We like to dive on several parts of the island so it comes out a little cheaper for us that way.

I would put pen to paper and get rates for both ways, and see what comes out cheaper for you.

I have never stayed on the east end before I prefore the George town area more because it is closer to the the shopping, but that is just me. I am sure that my husband would prefer the other.

I do have to say from what others have mentioned, you cant go wrong on the East End. The diving is superior and the accomodations are great too. What ever you decide I hope you have a great time and please let us know all about it. Good luck to ya.

We stayed at Comfort Suites, and we had a great time. Our room was on first floor, 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. Living area, and kitchenette. A TV in each room.

There is breakfast every morning, internet assess, Stingers is by the pool for a great meal or just snacks, and Coconut Joe's is across the street. You can't beat it for price either.

I would have to second the vote on Comfort Suites. They are really a very nice place to stay and stingers is one of our favorite bar and grills. The food is good and the drinks aint bad either! The prices of their suites are very nice and hard to beat. If you dive, then Don Fosters is right on property so that is a plus. I think you can get a package deal with room and divng so that may be a plus for you as well.
