Spanish Bay is no longer operational and has been removed from our Hotel Search and forums. If they should reopen I will re-evaluate the property and if I feel they still meet our rigid standards for endorsements, we will resume promotions. In the mean time, there is no all-inclusive on Grand Cayman that we recommend. Anyone ? and particularly divers, seeking an all-inclusive package in the Cayman Islands are strongly encouraged to visit Little Cayman Beach Resort on Little Cayman or Brac Reef Resort on Cayman Brac. I can not state this strongly or often enough: Dive enthusiasts will derive the greatest satisfaction from their vacation by visiting Little Cayman or Cayman Brac; there is absolutely no comparison between the sister islands and Grand Cayman when it comes to the quality, diversity, ease and overall awe factor of the surrounding dive sites.
I removed Casa Carib from our Hotel Search and replaced them with Villas of the Galleon. For whatever reason, our member response to Casa Carib was substantially lower than all the other recommended SMB properties. At the time of my extensive evaluation, Villas of the Galleon had not yet reopened and I have since found that their fully remodeled (basically brand new) accommodations are among the best on the beach, while their prices are substantially lower than any of the surrounding properties. Although they do not have a swimming pool, they stay pretty full most of the year so to many people a pool must not be a very high priority. Maybe because there is an entire ocean of warm crystal clear water just a few steps away along their spacious white sand beach.
As the status of properties change so do our recommendations, in order to always provide our members with what we feel to be the absolute highest valued properties. Activity Guide members can always rest assured that they are enjoying the very best accommodations on the island and at the best possible rate. We wouldn?t have it any other way. |
