We're staying at the Westin, and renting a car. We've always his Fosters - they have everything we need. Just wondering if Hurleys is 'better' in anyway - or are they comparable? I don't mind the extra mileage to go to a better store.

Also wondering if the Fosters up in West Bay would be a better idea, than the one on SMB?

Hi casher - Fosters at the Strand and the Airport are by far the two most well stocked and best priced stores on the island. West Bay Fosters is much smaller than their other stores.

I thought you were considering a condo this trip? Or a different resort? I'll bet if you stayed at the Marriott or Hyatt you would be quite pleasantly surprised. Wink

Hi Joe,

Yes - I so badly wanted a condo. But as it turns out; I am going back with my sister after all (not my man)...and for OUR needs - a condo turned out to me more $$$ for room that we really didn't need. We don't need to have two bedrooms - and most condos are at least two. And the one bedrooms all are a king size bed.

As far as another resort; I've found my favorite - and I'll stick to it. Stayed at your suggestions; pre-Ivan (obviously- the Hyatt). Though; I do go back to both Marriotts for shopping/eats. And as far as the Ritz goes...honestly - I am not impressed.

I'll definately just go back to Fosters on 7MB. Having the car makes all the difference in the world to me. Get my Dunkin Donuts fix each a.m. now!! And this time, I really would like to do some 'random' driving...exploring.

Thanks!!

BTW...are you still doing Tshirts? Haven't seen it mentioned in a while. If so; can I get one while I'm down there - or do I have to still order online/via email? I promised myself one.

Casher, I know Discovery Point Club converts their condos into 1 Bdrm if you request - then reduces the rate. Some of the one bedrooms are two twin beds instead of one bed. This will probably only work for you if you and your friend are willing to drive, since DPC is on the northern end of seven mile beach. Hotel living and condo living are worlds apart. Smile

Thank you so much for the DPC info! I am for sure going to make a point to stop in there - check them out - and check into them for next years travel. The drive doesn't bother me at all.

I'm SURE you're right; about them being worlds different. Definately something that I want to do. As much as I love my hotel...for some reason - in Cayman - the condo appeals to me much more than anyplace else.
