Hi Everyone,

Back to the board. It's been a while. sorry for my absence. I am curious if Brackker1 or any of the other members that live on the Brac can tell me about how the Brac survived Dean.

We have a lot on the southside that we have not built on yet. I heard that the docks at the Reef Resort and the closed Diviv Tiara sustained some damage and that some coral and rocks came accross the southside road.

Is Aunt Shaws okay? Hope no damage to any of the houses. Any information appreciated. See Ya, Swanny

Hello, Swanny!

The Brac came through with very little damage from Dean. (Whew!) I'm staying on the northside now and all I got was gusts of about 50 mph and some rough surf. The southside had the heavy seas you mentioned, coming across the road at Aunt Sha's and leaving rocks scattered everywhere. Water was apparently in Aunt Sha's, but I saw no structural damage. I only saw one tree down, and that was a lone, tall tree on the cross bluff road. Dean was taken seriously... there were many places boarded up, and businesses were closed Monday. Lots of places are still boarded up... can't say if it's because they know something I don't, or if it's just normal "island time" operation. I do not know of any damage to any homes. I have a lot about a quarter mile east of Aunt Sha's, but it is high enough that no water came across the road there.

Hi Brakker

Thanks for the info. Glad to hear that everything is okay. I talked to a friend of mine on Grand Cayman and he said that the Brac and Little Cayman got more of a wave swell then Grand Cayman. Also glad to hear Aunt Shaws is okay. We are due to have our house started soon. They are suppose to clear the lot in the next few weeks. Thanks again.

See Ya Swanny
