We've rented both. If I remember correctly, the Astro is slightly larger, but the biggest difference is left hand drive vs. right hand drive.
I'm going to assume you're from the US here. If you're from Great Britain, please reverse the following paragraphs.
The Astro is left hand drive which puts the gear shift, turn signal, etc. where you are used to having them (especially if you've driven a GM vehicle before), but the driver is on the curb side of the road. This is not a big deal to get used to unless you're trying to pass someone.
The Suzuki is right hand drive which means that all the controls will be on the opposite side of the steering wheel than you're used to, BUT the driver is in the center of the road which is much safer for passing.
If you're staying in town passing is no big deal, but, trust me, a couple of trips out to East End and...
Either way, with that many people, you'll be pushing the luggage capacity of either vehicle. You'll be crowded on your trips to and from the airport and may end up with folks riding with luggage on their laps. |
