Hi. I am new to the CAG. I have been finding lots of helpful info on this site. I was wondering if anyone knows of a good place to have a casual welcome party for guests coming in for a wedding. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum cdefran Smile ,

Sorry that no one has answered your question yet! I'll see if I can come up with some ideas for you. First of all, congratulations on your upcoming Cayman wedding (I guess I'm assuming you're asking about your own wedding).

Anyway, take a look at all of the Activity Guide restaurants in the Restaurants forum and see if something strikes your fancy. Not sure how many people you are talking about, or how casual you are thinking, or whether or not you need a private room or whatever, but if you want really casual and fun, you might look at Coconut Joe's or Aqua Beach. If you're looking for something with a private room for your group and in a lovely setting, you might think about Papagallo's.

Actually, I just had another idea! Maybe you should try the outdoor elevated deck at the Reef Grill! It's right on the water and the food is great! If you have your dinner on a Wednesday through Saturday night, you could have some great after dinner entertainment, since local bands perform down below for great dancing and listening. It's really a fun spot!

Hope this helps,

Char

I can only suggest that you consider somewhere close to where you are all staying, within walking distance if possible, since parties celebrating weddings can be a little "festive." You don't mention where you will be located but it might be wise to stay close.

Have a wonderful wedding and happy life Smile

Thank you all for the advice! I have not logged on to CAG in awhile...my apologies.

Does anyone know how far a drive Macabuca @ the Cracked Conch is from Georgetown? Any info would help!

Thanks much!

Hi cdefran,

Well, depending on traffic, that would probably take about 20 or 25 minutes. I'm usually not a good judge of things like that and tend to allow more time than I need, but I think that's about right.

By the way, Macabuca @ the Cracked Conch is a great spot!!

Char

Welcome cdefran,

Where will you and your visitors be staying? Do you want it walking distance or prefer to have guests drive? There are alot of good places, and people on the island that can help you arrange a fabulous time. just trying to get more info to be able to suit your needs.

Macabuca @ the Cracked Conch Is a nice spot for sunsets, and great food!

Hi everyone! Thanks for the advice. We have decided on having our Welcome dinner at Macabuca, and we are arranging for transportation to and from. The sunset looks beautiful there...couldn't resist!

Thank you all again!!

I believe they have both. But you can always call ahead and let then know how many you will need upon your arrival...to ensure they have enough. I did the same, but also included a bottle of rum for each room as well! Happy Planning!
